What to Expect Your First Visit to FBC Rockdale

Coming to a church for the first time can be a stressful situation.  So we have put this little guide together for you, so you can know what to expect.

How to dress

Come as you are!  We have people wearing everything from blue jeans to even the occasional suit!  Come in what you are comfortable wearing.

Parking

We have parking available on all sides of our church campus.  The largest parking lot we have faces US 79 and is accessible off of San Gabriel.  Street parking is available, as is parking in the grass.

Where to Go

If you are here for the Sunday School hour at 9:30 AM.  You will be greeted as you enter, and we will get you pointed in the right direction.  If you are here for the morning worship service at 10:30 AM, enter the Sanctuary and grab a spot!  If you have young children we have a wonderful nursery and children's church service called "KidJam".  Babies can be checked in to the nursery prior to the service.  Kids going to KidJam will be cued to leave with a teacher after the song portion of the service.

Bulletin Guest Card

When you enter be sure to grab a bulletin.  It will let you know what is going on at FBC in the coming weeks.  Also, there is a perforated tear-off that we would love for you to fill out and drop in the offering plate when it comes by.  This lets us know more about you and gives us a chance to follow up with you about your visit.  Speaking of the offering, if you are visiting, don't worry about dropping anything in the plate other than your visitor card.  We are glad you are here, no strings attached.

Worship Style

Our worship service is a blend of traditional hymns and modern praise and worship music.  You will see guitars, drums, organ, and piano being played each week (along with other instruments).  Our focus in song is not on styles or preferences, rather we are focused on who we are worshipping.

The Message

The sermons at FBC are designed to equip you to live a life that is more fulfilling in Christ.  You will be engaged and challenged through expository preaching.  Typically this means a series of messages from one section of the Bible.  Take a listen to some of our recent messages to get a feel for Pastor Matt's style.

After the Service, Now What?

There is more to church than going to a worship service.  The church is supposed to be a hub for our spiritual lives.  We would love for you to get involved in a Sunday School class or visit a small group that meets during the week at a church member home.

It is possible that we are not the perfect church for you, and that is ok!  If you check us out and find we aren't your cup of tea, let us know and we will gladly help you find another great church in the Rockdale area.  It's not about building up this one church, instead, our goal is to build up Christ's church wherever it meets.
